I talk about interiors, but decorating is only the beginning…

RETHINKING THE HOME AS A SPACE FOR JOY, COMMUNITY, NATURE AND ANCESTRAL CONNECTION.

How we create our homes has always fascinated me. Growing up between my Nigerian and Jamaican heritage, I watched both my grandmothers turn their homes in Lagos and Bristol into something both personal and profound. Spaces that held culture, memory, joy and identity all at once, without ever calling it interior design.

When I renovated my London home, Cottage Noir, I found myself instinctively doing the same. Everything I placed in my home was connected, rooted in the same story, my family story

Then I started looking beyond my own four walls. At other Black homes throughout history. What I found was so extraordinary, so understudied, and so inspiring that I simply had to share it.

My Debut Book: House Proud

PUBLISHED BY RIBA | FORTHCOMING SEPTEMBER 2026

Every home tells a story. House Proud is a visual anthology that shows how Black homes tell one of humanity's most enduring and sophisticated design stories, a story of life rooted in nature, community, joy, and the sacred.

From the Tamberma Tatas of Togo to the Palace of Sans-Souci in Haiti, from Madam C.J. Walker's New York retreat to the inspiring Black homes of today, Black cultural traditions are not an influence on the story of home design. They are its foundation. Understanding that foundation is a gift for anyone who wants a home that holds and nurtures everyone within it.

I TALK ABOUT HOME AS A RADICAL SPACE. AS AN ANCESTRAL SPACE.

Work With Me

A place that holds your culture, your history, your joy and your people. Not just a backdrop for beautiful objects,  but one of the most powerful expressions of identity you will ever create.

That perspective changes every conversation I enter. Whether I am speaking on a stage, collaborating with a brand or talking to a journalist, I bring a point of view that is rigorous, warm and unlike anything mainstream interiors media has offered before.
